| Chicago Downs Houston, 6-5 | Houston first baseman Johnny Adams had a good game, even if his team did not. The Comets dropped a 6-5 decision to Chicago at Dalton Domed Stadium. Adams went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Otis Hawkins. He's now 5-4. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits for the Chiefs. John Thomas, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities.
Chicago used the hitting of Harry McDaniel to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Chiefs on top, 6-1. For the game, McDaniel had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said McDaniel.
