Minutemen Prevail, 5-4, Over New York | The Boston Minutemen topped the New York Gothams, 5-4, in Federal Association action at Minuteman Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Boston pitcher and Passaic, New Jersey, native Dick Wilson. Wilson picked up the win for Boston, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-1. Bob Hollister recorded the save, making him 2 for 3.
Ed Wise, the Boston third baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh inning to make the score 5-0, Minutemen. For the game, Wise was 2-4 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI.
Boston manager Bill Freeman was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
