| Kansas City Scrapes Out 5-4 Win | Despite a fine performance by shortstop Bill Brown, the Cincinnati Cannons lost to the Kansas City Mavericks, 5-4. Brown went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs. Kansas City pitcher Johnny Manning got the win. He's now 6-7. Earl White was tagged with the loss. The game was at a stalemate until catcher Bobby Frost came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Cincinnati pitcher Earl White, he hit a 1-0 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Kansas City on top, 5-4.
"Winning never gets dull," said Frost. | |
