| Arrows Victors, 4-1, at San Francisco | Joe Wright, who finished 2nd in the CA in ERA with 2.56 in 1973, never let the Sailors get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his sinker, to pitch the Arrows to a win, 4-1. Jim Hart recorded his 9th save for Milwaukee. Milwaukee is now 36-23.
The Arrows got a big at-bat from second baseman Bucky Raymond. For the game, Raymond went 1-4 with a home run. In the top of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Milwaukee a 2-1 lead.
"Joe was throwing free and easy," said Milwaukee manager Randy Hendrix. | |
