Suns Sunk by Chiefs
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 30-year old catcher Al Padgett, the Chicago Chiefs defeated the Los Angeles Suns, 7-2. Roy Brandt, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1958 draft, was the winner. He's now 4-0. The loser was Frank Carey. Chicago raised its record to 44-30 with the win.

With Chicago leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Padgett hit a fastball from Frank Carey for a solo home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Chiefs ahead, 2-0.

"I really like what we did out there today," Padgett said after the game.
