Chicago starter Jim Norris put the New York offense in a vise grip. The left-hander relied heavily on his slider in leading the Cougars to a 6-1 win. Norris, now 6-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. With the win, Chicago raised its record to 35-29.
