The New York Gothams rode a solid performance from 26-year-old starting pitcher Curtis Robinson to a win, beating the Houston Comets, 2-1, at Gotham Stadium. The 4th-place Gothams are now 30-31, the Comets 34-28.

George James was the walk-off hero for New York. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Gothams pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Curtis attacked hitters and trusted his stuff," said New York manager Charlie Foley.
