| Floundering Minutemen Lose 6th Straight | The St. Louis Pioneers took Boston pitcher Bill Kelly's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Pioneer Field III. The final score had St. Louis getting past the Minutemen, 3-2. Kelly went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 3. Charlie Christianson picked up the win in relief for St. Louis, while Bud Shireman took the loss. Roy McDonald sewed up the save, his 14th.
Len Green helped out the St. Louis cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the left fielder was 2-2 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
"The want-to is there for our guys," said Boston manager Dode Edwards. "We'll get this thing turned around."
