| Miners Win at Home, 4-1 | The Pittsburgh Miners picked up a win at Fitzpatrick Park, topping the Minneapolis Millers, 4-1. On the mound for Pittsburgh was right-hander Ted Mickiewicz. He played a principal role in the triumph. Mickiewicz, who is tied for 7th in the FA in wins with 8, went the distance for Pittsburgh. He gave up 1 run on 8 hits. The last-place Millers have lost 4 straight games.
Pittsburgh second baseman Dixie Turner contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 106th hit of the season and put the Miners ahead, 3-0.
