| Suns Drop Chiefs, 3-2 | In a tight tilt between the Los Angeles Suns and the Chicago Chiefs, Dixie Gaines was the deciding factor. The Los Angeles left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. After today's action, Los Angeles sits at 63-85, while Chicago falls to 70-78.
The Suns got a big at-bat from catcher Stan Czerwinski. For the game, Czerwinski went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 15th home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 3-1 lead.
