Boston Squanders Big Game by Wagner
The Philadelphia-Boston matchup turned into a real hit parade.

George Wagner did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Boston Minutemen from being beaten, 12-10, to the Philadelphia Keystones at Broad Street Park II. Wagner went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 6. Picking up the save was Charlie Rushing. He's now 7 for 9 in save chances.

The Keystones got a big hit from shortstop Al Coulter. Facing Boston pitcher Chuck Murphy in the bottom of the seventh, Coulter pounded a 2-run home run to right. His 6th home run of the season put the Keystones ahead, 11-1.

"Ugly win or not, we'll take it," said Coulter.

The win for the Keystones raised their record to 44-33.
