Cannons center fielder Bonnie Chapin put his stamp on his team's 7-4 win over the Chicago Cougars. Chapin was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs for Cincinnati in the contest. Hal Miller earned the save, his 2nd. The Cannons go to 44-46, putting them 5th in the Continental Association.

Cincinnati took the lead, 6-4, on Jim Upchurch's 4th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Chicago pitcher Pug White in the bottom of the eighth.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Upchurch.
