| Kings Lose, 9-3, at Mavericks Stadium | Mavericks first baseman Phil James left his mark on his team's 9-3 win over the Seattle Kings. James went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for Kansas City in the contest. Orville Johnson got the win, improving to 2-2. He held the Kings to 3 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 3. The win puts Kansas City at 9-8.
James had a big at-bat with the bases empty in the bottom of the second inning, when he hit a solo home run. The Mavericks went on to win.
"If you don't take any pitches off, you've got a chance to impact the game, and that's what we did," said Kansas City skipper Bob Bendick. | |
