Dynamos Turn Back Chicago, 4-2 | The Detroit Dynamos earned a win at Whitney Park, knocking off the Chicago Chiefs, 4-2. On the bump for Detroit was left-hander Paul Anderson. He had a starring role in the triumph. Anderson, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Bill Follis earned the save for Detroit, his 2nd of the year.
Ed MacNaughton, the 16th overall pick in the 1959 draft, aided the Detroit cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder went 1-4 with a double.
"I was just trying to execute one pitch at a time," said Anderson.
