| Los Angeles Tops St. Louis, 6-3 | The Los Angeles Suns defeated the St. Louis Pioneers, 6-3, in Federal Association action at Pioneer Field III. Los Angeles pitcher Pete Meissner had a standout performance. The winner was Meissner. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Harry Anderson. Los Angeles, now 9-6, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Los Angeles center fielder Lou Geyer contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a splitter to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 13th hit of the season and put the Suns ahead, 6-3.
"Good pitching stops good hitting," said Geyer. "And vice-versa."
