| Loss to Millers Extends Chicago Losing Streak | The Chicago Chiefs and Minneapolis Millers delighted fans at Hennepin County Stadium.
Minneapolis turned a good performance from starting pitcher Hub Huffman into a 5-2 triumph over the Chicago Chiefs at Hennepin County Stadium. The winner was Huffman. He threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Otis Hawkins. Ben Baird picked up his 4th save of the season.
With two out in the bottom of the eighth, Ben Baird had a game-changing hit. The Millers pitcher slammed a 2-run single off Joe Jones, making the score 5-2, Minneapolis.
"We've got a great group of guys," Baird said, "and we're having fun right now."
Chicago, at 4-11, is off to a poor start in 1974.
