Garrison Slugs Stars to 16-6 Win
The Los Angeles Stars defeated the New York Imperials, 16-6, at Dyckman Stadium. Leading the charge for Los Angeles was first baseman Bobby Garrison. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Floyd Warner was the winner. Over 5 innings, he yielded 5 runs on 9 hits, with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. The Imperials fall to 6-9 and continue their uneven start to the 1963 season.

Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Lou Allen to capture the win. The right fielder socked a grand slam home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Stars ahead, 9-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Allen.
