| Stars Handle Chicago, Snag 5-1 Win | Bill Dunham, who finished 2nd in the CA in strikeouts with 198 last year, had a strong outing for the Los Angeles Stars against the Chicago Cougars at Cougars Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-1 win. Chicago, with the loss, is 7-8.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Irv Boggs? The Los Angeles second baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Stars on top, 2-0. For the game, Boggs had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
