Wranglers Get Clutch Win, 1-0 | The Dallas Wranglers beat the Toronto Wolves, 1-0, at Norris Stadium. Starting pitcher Steve Miller was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Miller went the distance for Dallas. He gave up no runs on 1 hit. Dallas is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 6th in 18 games.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Dallas. That's when 34-year old second baseman Hilly Westbrook hit a run-scoring double off Zeke Blake to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Toronto skipper Randy Hohlt, "and it cost us." | |
