| Comets Squeeze Out Win in Pitching Duel | The Houston Comets eked out a 1-0 win versus the Baltimore Clippers at Dalton Domed Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Jay Hunt. He was terrific. The Comets now have a record of 36-29.
Had John Edwards not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Edwards hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Comets.
"I'm happy we won," said Hunt. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
