Sailors Get Hard-Earned Win
San Francisco Sailors starter Elmer Peters pitched a strong game against the Milwaukee Arrows at Golden Gate Stadium, leading the Sailors to victory, 4-3. Eddie Morrison came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 4-5. The Sailors improved their record to 32-30 by beating Milwaukee.

San Francisco took a 4-3 lead on Jack Cavin's 1st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Cavin hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Milwaukee pitcher Jim Hart visibly frustrated.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Milwaukee manager Randy Hendrix. "But we decided not to take it."
