Suns Turn Back Minneapolis, 8-6
The Minneapolis Millers got a superb performance from shortstop Cecil Cummings, but the Los Angeles Suns still won the game, 8-6. Cummings was 2-3 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The winner in relief was Norm Van Dyne. He is now 2-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. Jerry Patton earned the save, his 1st, for the Suns.

Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Luke LeDoux to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Suns on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said LeDoux.

Los Angeles has won 3 straight, while Minneapolis has lost 3 in a row.
