| Sailors Down Saints, 6-5 | The San Francisco Sailors topped the Montreal Saints, 6-5, in Continental Association action at Stade Montreal. The game was highlighted by the performance of San Francisco pitcher Eddie Whitney. The winning pitcher was Whitney, now 1-0. He tossed 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 2. The save went to Zeke Blake, number 2 for him.
Herbert Crawford Jr. had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the eighth for San Francisco. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Sailors leading 5-1, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.
"Good win for us," said Crawford Jr.. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
The third-place Sailors go to 49-44.
