Suns Topple Millers, 10-9, as Czerwinski Shines
The Los Angeles Suns topped the Minneapolis Millers, 10-9, with catcher Stan Czerwinski playing a big role. Czerwinski was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Suns in the win. Los Angeles reliever Whitey Stewart picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Dan Charlton absorbed the loss. Los Angeles is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 10th win in 30 games.

The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Czerwinski delivered big-time for Los Angeles, stroking a dramatic 2-run double off Dan Charlton. The game-changing hit put the Suns on top, 10-8.

"It's not about individual awards," Czerwinski told a Los Angeles Today reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
