Millers Stumble, Lose to Gothams
The New York Gothams finished off the Minneapolis Millers, 8-4. Much of the credit belonged to center fielder Otto Pilkerton. Pilkerton went 4-4 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs for the Gothams. Red Blanchard, the winner, improved to 3-11. He held the Millers to 4 runs on 6 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 10 and walking 1. The Gothams raised their record to 25-44.

In the bottom of the third, Frank Arnold delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the New York third baseman hit a 2-run single, putting the Gothams in front, 8-4.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Pilkerton, "and then get after it again."
