The Montreal Saints pounded the Chicago Cougars, 14-2, at Stade Montreal. Montreal third baseman Andy Gilman had a solid game. He belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 7 for the Saints. The winner was Phil Murry, who threw 113 pitches over 9 innings. The left-hander was charged with 2 runs on 8 hits. The Saints now own a record of 34-52.

Gilman contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Montreal in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Gilman took a sinker from Andy Logue and stroked the home run to right. His 14th home run of the season allowed the Saints to leap in front, 4-2.
