| Clippers Get Plucky, 4-3 Win Over Millers | The Baltimore Clippers picked up a win at Patapsco Field, dropping the Minneapolis Millers, 4-3. Pat Fortier, who is tied for 2nd in the FA with a 1.64 ERA, was the difference-maker. Baltimore reliever George Brown was the winner. His record is now 3-4. Ben Baird took the loss. With the win, Baltimore raised its record to 33-26.
Had George Best not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Best hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Clippers.
"Glad to see the fans get into it," said Fortier.
