| Down to Defeat Goes Boston, 6-1 | Houston and Boston got after it at Dalton Domed Stadium.
The Houston Comets downed the Boston Minutemen, 6-1, at Dalton Domed Stadium. Stellar pitching by Pete Jones had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Houston.
Ernie Carter had a big solo home run for the Comets in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Houston leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a sinker from Bob Scott, who is tied for 8th in the FA in complete games with 1, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Comets on top, 2-0.
"I loved our energy," said Houston manager Glenn Carney. "I loved the way we played."
