The San Francisco Sailors rode a solid performance from 22-year-old starting pitcher Charlie Lawson to a win, beating the Cincinnati Cannons, 3-2, at Tice Memorial Stadium II. The Sailors raised their record to 48-43.

Herbert Crawford Jr. had a direct impact on the outcome. Crawford Jr. contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put San Francisco up, 3-2.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Crawford Jr. told the San Francisco Bulletin.
