Pittsburgh right fielder Gale Schmitt was instrumental in helping the Miners triumph, 13-6, over the Chicago Chiefs. Schmitt was 2-3 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Pat Simon, who is tied for 4th in the FA in quality starts with 17, was the winner. He's now 14-8.
