Kennedy Slugs Foresters to 5-4 Win
Tice Memorial Stadium II was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Cleveland Foresters and Cincinnati Cannons.

The timely hitting of Hal Kennedy helped the Cleveland Foresters down the Cincinnati Cannons, 5-4. Kennedy was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Foresters. The winner was Les Hanauer, who threw 116 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 5 hits. Johnny Ogden earned his 11th save, after closing out the game.

Kennedy had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Paul Williams, he banged a 2-run home run to center, giving the Foresters a 5-3 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Kennedy.

"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Kennedy.

The 5th-place Cannons now sit at 37-34.
