Washington Downs Pittsburgh, 3-1
In a low-scoring contest between the Washington Eagles and the Pittsburgh Miners, Walt Staton, who finished 3rd in the CA in innings pitched with 285.0 in 1952, proved to be the difference. The Washington right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Eagles win. Getting the save was Carl Levy, his 12th. The Eagles raised their record to 49-39.

Del Gaines aided the Washington cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first. For the game, the third baseman drove in one run.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Staton said after the game.
