| Philadelphia Downed, 4-2, by Millers | The Millers grabbed a win, 4-2, at Liberty Coliseum, overcoming a fine effort from Philadelphia pitcher Buzz Lucas. Lucas went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Daryl Woods was credited with the save for Minneapolis, his 3rd of the season. The Millers improved their record to 30-29 with the win over Philadelphia.
Julio Castaneda came through with a big-time hit for Minneapolis. The pinch hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
After the game, Castaneda refused to speak to a reporter for the Minneapolis Citizen. "You've accused me of throwing teammates under the bus," he said. "So, excuse me if I decline to answer your questions." | |
