| Slumping Chiefs Lose Again, 5-2 | The 1974 season is getting uglier for Chicago.
The New York Gothams picked up a win at Gotham Stadium, knocking off the Chicago Chiefs, 5-2. On the mound for New York was right-hander Curtis Robinson. He played a key role in the triumph. Robinson yielded 1 run over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 3, and struck out 1. His record improves to 4-2. Jeff Pettigrew closed out the game, earning his 11th save.
Fred Davis, who led the FA in batting average with .336 in 1970, helped out the New York cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the right fielder went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
