| Hasson Fires 7-0 Shutout in Pioneers Win | Billy Hasson of the St. Louis Pioneers spun his magic on the Washington Eagles. He blanked them, 7-0, on 6 hits, registering 8 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Hasson said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, St. Louis skipper Lou Ormsby said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Billy pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
So far in 13 appearances this season, Hasson has recorded 8 wins and sustained 3 losses. He has pitched 103.1 innings, yielded 101 hits, fanned 79 and has a 3.75 ERA. | |
