| Masters Leads Charge, Pittsburgh Blasts Pioneers | Pittsburgh right fielder Rick Masters had a 6-RBI game, leading his team in its 13-2 defeat of the St. Louis Pioneers. Masters picked up 2 singles and 1 double in the ballgame. Mike Blackham picked up the win, lifting his record to 10-12 on the season. He struck out 6 and walked 4 in 6.1 innings, while yielding 2 runs. The 6th-place Miners go to 66-69.
Masters contributed in the bottom of the second. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat among others that helped Pittsburgh get the win.
