| Atlanta Loses, 6-3, in 10 | The Minneapolis Millers took Harry Inge's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Peachtree Stadium. The final score had Minneapolis getting past the Copperheads, 6-3, in 10 innings. Inge over 6 innings allowed 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 8. The winner was Minneapolis reliever Ben Baird, now 8-4. The loser was Buddy Thomas. Del Robinson recorded his 6th save for Minneapolis.
Minneapolis used the timely hitting of Julio Castaneda to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Millers on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Our team found a way to get it done," said Castaneda.
The victory gives Minneapolis a record of 29-29.
