The Baltimore Clippers beat the Detroit Dynamos, 5-4. Baltimore pitcher and Toledo, Ohio, native Johnny Hugot led the way. Baltimore is third in the Federal Association East with a record of 30-26.

Baltimore used the timely hitting of Harry Simmons to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Clippers on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Both teams played hard," said Baltimore manager Hank Luckenbaugh.
