Philadelphia Makes It 7 Straight with 5-4 Win | The New York Gothams extended their losing streak with a defeat by the Philadelphia Keystones.
The Philadelphia Keystones did just enough to sneak past the New York Gothams, 5-4, at Broad Street Park II. Philadelphia pitcher Don McKeown, in particular, had a standout performance. The Gothams, now 23-43, have lost 9 in a row.
Harry Dellinger was the walk-off hero for Philadelphia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Keystones center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I wish I had a genie in a bottle," said losing manager Harry Davis. "First thing I'd ask for is a win." | |
