The Houston Comets picked up a win at Dalton Domed Stadium, taking down the New York Gothams, 9-2. Starting pitcher George Roy was a big reason why. The Gothams have now dropped 5 straight.

In the bottom of the third, John Edwards delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Houston right fielder hit a 2-run single, putting the Comets in front, 9-2.

"Been a rough stretch for us," said New York manager Charlie Foley.
