| Keystones Rally Late to Nip Dynamos | The Philadelphia Keystones, despite a fine performance by Detroit pitcher Pedro Castro, grabbed a 3-2 win at Thompson Field. Castro allowed 1 run over 7.1 innings. Today's win puts Philadelphia at 25-28, while Detroit falls to 28-29.
Philadelphia used the timely hitting of Charlie Taylor to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Keystones on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"The other side played a good game," said Detroit manager Roger Cleaves. "You tip your cap to them." | |
