Patapsco Field featured a tense pitchers' duel.

The Baltimore Clippers scored a tight, 2-1 win versus the St. Louis Pioneers at Patapsco Field. Baltimore pitcher Jose Martinez held his own in the contest. By defeating St. Louis, the second-place Clippers improved to 30-23.

Hal Blank had a critical at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the sixth for Baltimore. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Baltimore in front, 2-0.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Babe Johnson.
