Chiefs Down Minutemen, 10-8
Boston got a terrific game from second baseman Ed Wise. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Chicago, 10-8, in 13 innings. Wise went 4-7 with a home run, a triple, and a double, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Reliever Joe Campbell picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Chuck Murphy took the loss. The win puts the Chiefs at 63-68, while the Minutemen drop to 62-69.

Ed Bloom delivered a 2-run double for Chicago in the top of the 13th. The third baseman went 3 for 7 in the game, including 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 4.

"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Bloom.
