| Ludlow Pitches Gem as Sailors Beat Cleveland, 2-0 | In an excellent mound performance, Hank Ludlow of the Philadelphia Sailors blanked the Cleveland Foresters, 2-0, on a 5-hitter.
"I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches," he said after the game.
In all, the Philadelphia hurler rang up 3 strikeouts and 3 walks in the shutout win.
"We just didn't swing the bats well today," said Foresters manager Ned Wiggins. "Ludlow did a good job keeping us guessing."
His record this season is 12-10 in 24 starts and Ludlow has a 2.35 ERA. | |
