Cougars Beat Stars, 4-1 | The Chicago Cougars picked up a win at Cougars Park, topping the Los Angeles Stars, 4-1. On the mound for Chicago was right-hander Ken Stone. He played a principal role in the triumph. The loss makes the Stars 6-9.
In the bottom of the sixth, Chicago shortstop Jack Gibson had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Gibson stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 1-0, Chicago. For the game, he went 3 for 4 with 3 singles.
