| Sailors Handle Cannons, Grab 4-0 Win | The home team gave the crowd at Golden Gate Stadium something to cheer about.
The San Francisco Sailors racked up a win at Golden Gate Stadium, bumping off the Cincinnati Cannons, 4-0. Bob Briggs, who started for San Francisco, pitched effectively for his team. The winning pitcher was Briggs, now 4-7. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 2.
The two teams provided some entertaining baseball for the Golden Gate Stadium crowd. Regardless of the outcome, a good time was had by all.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Briggs. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
The Sailors win now puts them at 26-32. | |
