The Los Angeles Suns topped the Pittsburgh Miners, 9-7, with youngster Bill Bell playing a key role. Bell went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, while scoring 3 times for the Suns in the win. Russ Hawkins had a big run-scoring triple for the Suns in the top of the fifth inning.
