Eagles Suffer 7-4 Setback
The Washington Eagles got a sterling performance from catcher Howdy Oakes, but the Boston Minutemen still prevailed, 7-4. Oakes went 4-4 with a triple and 2 doubles. He scored 3 times. The Minutemen win now puts them at 61-68.

Boston used a timely hit from Sal Nigro to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Minutemen ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a difference-maker.

"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," Nigro told the Boston Observer.
