Minutemen Earn Late 2-1 Win | The Boston Minutemen beat the New York Gothams, 2-1. Boston pitcher and Elkhart, Indiana, native Bob Green led the way. The win belonged to Bob Hollister in relief. His record improves to 9-12. Bill Howard took the loss for New York. Boston is now 60-67, New York 59-68.
Boston got a knockout punch from Joe Kleman. The shortstop hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Bob is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Boston manager Bill Freeman. | |
