Washington Beats Los Angeles, 7-4 | The Washington Eagles knocked off the Los Angeles Suns, 7-4, at Wilshire Park. Jimmy Brown was a big reason Washington won. The right fielder was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. The winner was Owen Lantz, who threw 121 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 11 hits. Dick Adams Jr. sewed up the save, his 4th.
Washington shortstop Al Marino contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a sinker to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 57th hit of the season and put the Eagles ahead, 2-0.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Brown.
Washington now owns a record of 41-26. | |
