Kansas City Edges Cleveland in Extra Innings
Cleveland wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Bill Harris, falling to the Kansas City Mavericks, 5-4. Harris threw 7.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Clay Buddemeyer snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits over 3 innings. He's now 1-3 on the season. Kansas City goes to 20-35, Cleveland to 26-25.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the 13th for Kansas City. That's when Bob Howard hit a run-scoring double off 29-year old right-handed pitcher Ted Thierry to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

Kansas City manager Sakan Hashizume commended his team for "bagging a nice win."
