| Heath Shuts Out Chicago, 3-0 | Theo Heath subdued the Chicago Cougars, 3-0, pitching a 4-hit gem for the New York Stars at Riverside Stadium.
"He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," New York skipper Myles O'Shea said.
Heath registered 7 strikeouts and issued 4 walks in his superb performance.
"We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Chicago manager George McFadden after the defeat.
This year, Heath has 11 wins and 11 losses and a 2.33 ERA. | |
