Due in large part to shortstop Art Robbins, the Montreal Saints sunk the Kansas City Kings, 5-4. Robbins was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner in relief was Jerry Duncan. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 4-4. Gene Faulkenberry was credited with the save, his 3rd in 3 tries.

Robbins had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Fred Whitt, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Saints a 5-4 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Robbins.

"Art was ready to go. Big day for him," said Montreal manager Lynn Gray.

Montreal is now 28-49, while Kansas City is 42-37.
