6-2 Win Gets St. Louis to 41-17
St. Louis Pioneers starter Billy Hasson kept the Minneapolis Millers hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Hasson, who finished 2nd in the FA in innings pitched with 248.2 last year, went the distance for St. Louis. He gave up 2 runs on 9 hits. The Pioneers improved to a lofty 41-17.

Sam Ruggles had a big 2-run double for the Pioneers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With St. Louis leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from Bill Smith, who finished 3rd in the FA in strikeouts with 157 last year, and swatted a double to center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pioneers ahead, 4-1.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said St. Louis manager Lou Ormsby.
