| Washington Skunked by Heim, 4-0 | All went well for Charles Heim of the Brooklyn Kings as he pitched his team to a shutout victory, 4-0, over the Washington Eagles, limiting them to 9 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Heim on the day.
"Charles's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Kings manager Jack Fairchild. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
In the contest, the Brooklyn right-hander rang up 1 and surrendered 2 walks.
"He didn't give us any second chances," said Eagles manager Roger Patterson. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
