In a tight contest at Wilshire Park, the Los Angeles Suns edged the Boston Minutemen by the score of 7-6. Los Angeles catcher Stan Czerwinski, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Red Cooper got the save, the 1st for him this season. The Suns, now 8-19, have not found much traction so far in 1962.

Had Czerwinski not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Czerwinski hit a 2-run single. The Suns took the lead, 7-5, and never looked back.

"I was making good contact tonight," said Czerwinski.
