| Eagles Walk It Off for 4th Win of Season | Behind a fine performance from Tom Lorang, the Washington Eagles knocked off the Baltimore Clippers, 7-4. Lorang went 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Eagles. Washington reliever Herman White got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Sonny Stoyer was tagged with the loss. Losses have been rare for the Clippers, who are now 9-3.
Washington got a clutch hit from Dode Best. The catcher launched a 3-run home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Eagles manager Joe D'Aprile. | |
