Gothams Beaten By Minutemen, 6-2 | The Boston Minutemen got a stellar performance from pitcher Bob Hollister, who handcuffed the New York offense en route to a win, 6-2, at Minuteman Stadium. The Gothams fall to 6-8 and continue their lackluster start in 1963.
In the bottom of the sixth, Boston third baseman Pat Todd had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Todd stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 6-2, Boston. For the game, he was 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs.
"Bob was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Boston manager Bill Freeman. | |
