Williams Drills 2 Homers in 7-5 Kansas City Win | Kansas City and Dallas duked it out and the Kings came out victorious.
The Kansas City Kings saddled the Dallas Wranglers with a loss at Norris Stadium. The final score was 7-5. Hank Williams was 3 for 4, including 1 single and 2 home runs. The Kansas City right fielder scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Johnnie Higgins got the win, improving to 3-0. He held the Wranglers to 5 runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 3.
Ben Crawford drew 2 walks for Kansas City. The 33-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Hank Short. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Williams told the Kansas City Observer.
The Kings have hit the ground running, raising their record to 11-4. While it's still too soon to talk about Kansas City hoisting their 4th World Championship Series trophy, fans are getting excited about their strong start. | |
