Eagles Rally to Nose Past New York
The Washington Eagles had to overcome a fine effort from New York pitcher Ray Hooley to win, 5-4, at Gotham Stadium. Hooley went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. The loss drops the Gothams to 3-6.

Washington used a timely hit from Carlos Zamudio to get the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Eagles ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," New York manager Charlie Foley said, following the tough loss.
